In this classification, the type of gynecomastia is determined by the size of the glandular tissue disc located under the brown ring (aerola) on the nipple. In adolescents with a disc diameter less than 4 cm, it would be more appropriate to inform the patient and wait for it to pass spontaneously. However, if the patient's complaint lasts longer than 4 years or if the clinical findings that disturb the patient increase, there is an indication to start treatment. If the disc in the patient is in the range of 4-6 cm, medical treatment can be applied. In cases with disc diameter larger than 6 cm, surgical intervention is recommended.
